National Community Development Week Association (NCDA) Block Party!
Jersey City’s Division of Community Development’s (DCD) presents its annual National Community Development Week Association (NCDA) Block Party! This event will be held on Saturday, April 6th, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at 39 Kearney Ave, between Rose Ave and Martin Luther King Drive.
Details of the event include:
- Activities for children, such as games (including a game bus and VR games) and arts and crafts.
- Tables hosted by local community partners such as Big Brothers and Little Sisters of Hudson County, Educational Arts, and Team Wilderness that target inner-city kids with their programs.
- Various resources, including the Resident Response Center, Hudson County Welfare, libraries, and the health department, catering to the needs of the entire family.
- Live performances by groups such as TruSoul, Nimbus Dance Works, and PAFCOM, who will be offering Zumba sessions.
In addition, DCD will be celebrating 50 years of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)! CDBG is a Housing Urban Development (HUD) funded grant that has greatly impacted our community and positively enhanced the quality of life for many Jersey City residents.
