HUDSON GIVES, HUDSON COUNTY, NJ’S ANNUAL NONPROFIT GIVING DAY

SET TO BREAK RECORDS ON MAY 9

(HUDSON COUNTY, NJ) – Give Where You Live! Hudson Gives, Hudson County’s online nonprofit giving day, is set to launch on May 9. 2024, marking its sixth addition. 112 nonprofits have registered to participate, making this year’s giving day the largest ever. It’s not just a giving day, it's our community’s day to shine. With the support of individual and corporate partners, Hudson County nonprofits are anticipated to break their $1 million goal this year.

Hudson Gives is a 24-hour virtual fundraising campaign and competition that unites our community in support of local causes. By giving locally, we can lift all our neighbors and strengthen our nonprofits. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference in the lives of those around us. To donate, visit hudsongives.org.

“As County Executive, I am thrilled to announce our partnership with the Hudson County Economic Development

Corporation as a sponsor for Hudson Gives. This collaboration not only underscores our dedication to fostering a

vibrant community, but also highlights the indispensable role our nonprofits play in enhancing the quality of life for

residents in the fastest-growing, most densely populated, and diverse county in New Jersey. Together with HCEDC

Executive Director Michelle Richardson, we are not only providing crucial funding for 20 nonprofits to participate, but

also ensuring that they have access to the resources our organizations provide for them to continue delivering essential

services,” Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive, said.

“Give where you live,” Emory Edwards, president of the Hudson County Chamber Foundation, said. “Our nonprofits work tirelessly to serve our community in so many diverse ways on issues of hunger and homelessness, poverty and healthcare, mentoring and training, animals and nature, the arts and education, and much more.”

A program of the Hudson County Chamber Foundation, Hudson Gives aims to raise critically needed funds and acquire new donors to support vital work in all 12 municipalities in Hudson County, NJ. Now in its sixth year, it generated over $3 million in its first five years. Last year, funds raised exceeded $800,000, with 4,000 donors aiding 88 nonprofit members of the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce. Last year’s average donation was $160.

“Visibility is a key issue that Hudson Gives addresses,” Robinson Holloway, co-chair of the Hudson Chamber’s Nonprofit Network, said. “We have incredible nonprofits here. It takes a community to ensure that the good that is being done every day by our nonprofits continues. We urge donors to seek out their favorite local causes and support them.”

This online giving day is the 24 hours of May 9, 2024. However, the HudsonGives.org website is now open for donations.
