North Jersey National Heritage Area

Tuesday, April 29, 2025 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Share what’s special about your community at the North Jersey National Heritage Area information session

April 29 – 2-3 pm (online)  or April 29, 6-7:30 at Deserted Village in Berkeley Heights

A National Heritage Area for North Jersey can have an incredible amount of benefits to communities, businesses and nonprofit organizations in Union, Essex, Hudson, Bergen, Passaic and Morris counties. It can bring millions of dollars in economic impact; hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to nonprofit organizations and local governments; and help protect our communities’ cultural, historic and environmental resources.

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation is leading a consortium of public agencies and nonprofit organizations to have the federal government designate our region as a National Heritage Area (NHA). An NHA is a place that has made a special contribution to American history and culture. North Jersey’s NHA will focus on our distinct experiences with innovation & industry, suburbia, transportation & infrastructure, and migration & immigration.

Please join us April 29 online, or at Deserted Village to learn more about this initiative. You can also share knowledge about what makes your community special.
