Hudson Chamber Nonprofit Committee Meeting

Monday, December 1, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EST)

Description

The Nonprofit Committee of the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce provides nonprofit members with mutual support, capacity building, leadership, and fundraising best practices. We meet monthly around a topic of interest and to community build.

Today, Tiana Garner from Stevens Institute of Technology will discuss its Federal Work-Study Community Service Program, which can expand nonprofit capacity. This program enables eligible college students to earn their financial aid award while providing meaningful service to the local community. We are currently seeking community-based organizations and businesses interested in hosting student workers in roles supporting public service, education, health care and other community-focused projects. Students can work up to 20 per week.

Benefits of Partnering with Stevens:

  • Access to motivated student workers at no cost to your organization.
  • Support your business's community service goals.
  • Strengthening ties with a leading local university and contributing to student development. There is no fee for your organization.

There is no fee for your organization. Stevens handles all administrative aspects of the program, including payroll and compliance, so you can focus on participating. All we ask is that you provide a safe, supportive environment and meaningful work that aligns with community service objectives.
